Cultivate – A Festival of Food and Drink is a festival that takes place in Cobourg each year. This was a school project that required the creation of a hand drawn logo, a poster design and a festival brochure/schedule.
The food at this festival is all from local farmers and local restaurants and so I brought the wheat texture in to symbolize the wonderful local farms that were being represented. I used digital versions of hand painted root vegetables that I had painted on a wooden panel to bring that special texture. The colours are friendly and calm and were inspired by the root vegetables that would be present at the festival.
